Designing the 808

The 808 is a sine-wave bass with a long decay, named after the Roland TR-808 drum machine. Tune it to the root note of your song.
- Glide / portamento between 808 notes is a signature trap move.
- Add saturation or distortion to make it cut through on small speakers.
- Sidechain it to the kick so they don't fight in the sub region.
