Diminished and augmented triads

Two less-common but emotionally striking triads:

• Diminished (root + minor 3rd + flat 5): unstable, suspenseful. Think horror film.
• Augmented (root + major 3rd + sharp 5): dreamy, unresolved. Think Bowie or jazz interludes.
